Garth and Karen Borgelt have not only transformed the old 'Closeys Fishing World' into one of the best eco friendly fishing parks in Australia, they have given it a new name: EcoPark Fishing World.
Garth has been a keen fisherman for years, and can share some great tales of catching the big Barra in the Northern Territory. But he has more talents beyond fishing. Garth has over 20 years experience in corporate and private company business growth and development, and risk mitigation, as well as ensuring sound corporate governance. Fondly, he admits that with all this experience his best investment yet was marrying his wife Karen.
Karen is a trained business management consultant, holder of an MBA and many other associated accreditations. She is widely regarded as an organization management specialist and is completing a doctorate in Business, specializing in Leadership. Karen also continues to run specialist training nationally for leaders, managers and staff.
Both Karen and Garth have experienced the pace a person keeps in the corporate world and knows how important it is to have a time and a place to relax and recharge, to de-stress and allow time for creative ideas to develop.
Together, they create the ideal team ensuring the welfare and safety of all associations and customers of the EcoPark Fishing World.
James Herbst, a local, loves nothing better than nurturing the flora and fauna at EcoPark as Park Manager. James has a passion for aquaculture and his in-depth knowledge of the industry and the local market opportunities makes your visit to the park a pleasurable and rewarding experience.

The children and teachers found the day at EcoPark extremely worthwhile as it was both educationally sound and enjoyable for all who attended. Special mention must be given to the park staff who really kept the children focused and motivated throughout most activities. Staff were able to answer all questions with a great degree of knowledge.

If you haven't been to EcoPark fishing world before then we would highly recommend that you pay them a visit. I recently celebrated my birthday with over 25 people including small children, teenagers and adults. We arrived to find the tables were prepared beautifully, streamers and balloons set ready to give the birthday atmosphere. With a mega size BBQ it allowed us to cook our breaky all at the same time, so everyone could eat together. Everyone had space to do their own thing - some went fishing while others just relaxed in the beautiful shady areas. Great coffee from the cafe and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely put EcoPark on your list of places to visit.
